Abstract: It has been established that in the process of soil excavation with the combined action of the drives of the main mechanisms of an open-pit excavator (hoist and crowd), the level of energy consumption of both individual drives and the power plant as a whole changes. The main factors that determine the distribution of power consumption between the drives of the main mechanisms are identified. A technique is proposed for calculating the energy characteristics of a mining excavator when mining a face in specific mining operating conditions based on a simulation model of a mining excavator working process.
