Abstract: The level of development of the electric grid complex is one of the most important indicators of the level of development not only of the state’s electric power industry, but also of the economy as a whole. The electric power industry is developing largely due to innovative, breakthrough technologies that scientists have discovered and successfully used in other sectors of the economy. In order to keep up with the technical progress, electric power industry is forced to adapt and to work in advance, taking into account the course of the future development of breakthrough, innovative technologies, preparing the ground for their direct implementation. In this paper, we will assess the possibility of applying big data technologies, machine learning and neural networks in order to increase the reliability of the power supply system of the territorial grid organization (hereinafter referred to as TSS). Also, we will show what must be done to enable further application of these technologies in the conditions of the Kemerovo Region and Russia. This will positively affect the reliability of power supply to consumers.
