Abstract: The article discusses ways to reduce the power consumption by transporting machines, such as energy recovery with the help of special modules included in an adjustable drive, as well as reducing the power consumed by drives by reducing its losses directly in the drive units - in motors and frequency converters. It shows the energy savings in open-pit coal mines and underground mines when replacing one engine with two or more while maintaining the total power of the conveyor and adjusting its speed depending on the load on the belt.
