Abstract: the paper discusses the urgent issues of the development and application of unmanned dump trucks in the open mining. The main advantages and disadvantages of using autonomous shuttle dump trucks in comparison with traditional dump trucks are given, explaining the reasons for their demand and interest in mining enterprises in them. Besides, the calculation justifies the feasibility of using unmanned vehicles in terms of their performance.
