Abstract: Mining placer deposits in the Arctic region of Russia is carried out using BelAZ-7540 mining dump trucks. As practice shows, the operation of mining equipment in the Arctic region has its own specifics. Mining of placer deposits has negative factors such as low climatic temperatures, frozen rocks, lack of year-round road communications, it is all complicated by the great remoteness of mining sites from industrial centers. The reliability of BelAZ-7540 mining dump trucks at placer deposits in the Arctic region of Russia has not been actually studied in the scientific and technical literature. A feature of the development of placer deposits in the Arctic is the seasonal character of mining operations, which affects the load of equipment during the year. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to explore the reliability of BelAZ-7540 dump trucks at placer deposits in the Arctic region of Russia. Statistical and analytical methods of analysis were used to explore the reliability of BelAZ-7540 dump trucks. As a result of the study, it was found that their reliability was rapidly decreasing, and an increase in the volume of mining operations and their mileage lead to an increase in the frequency of failures. Reliability is limited by extensive failures of the drive axle, suspension, front axle, wheels and tires, steering, and brake systems. The number of failures of these systems increases during the flushing season.
