Abstract: The paper considers the possibility of increasing the productivity of single-bucket hydraulic excavators. The design of the existing and proposed bucket with a volume of 0,25 m3 is presented. The forces in the digging process arising on these structures are considered. Assumptions are made during the calculation process. Dependence for calculating the resistance forces on the bucket is described. The results of a comparative calculation of the force moment on the buckets of both structures are presented
