Abstract: Despite the fact that the share of the labor force employed in the mining industry is less than 1% worldwide, up to 5% of fatal accidents occur in this particular sector. In terms of occupational morbidity by type of economic activity, mining is confidently in the first place. Significant funds are invested in labor protection and industrial safety measures in the coal industry, reaching 5,000–12,000 million rubles, but this does not provide an adequate increase in the level of production safety. The existing relationship between accidental downtime of excavators and mining dump trucks with industrial injuries opens a window of opportunity to prevent injuries through the optimization of the мaintenance and repair system
