Abstract: The article substantiates the need to develop the scientific basis for creating systems of heavy platforms for open-pit mining. The main manufacturers of quarry equipment intended for open-pit mining are shown. The complex project " Development and creation of high-tech production of autonomous heavy platforms for unattended mining in the Smart Quarry system" is presented. To set the goal and task of the study, the main prerequisites for the development and creation of heavy platforms are justified. Conclusions are made about the confirmation of the need to develop and create heavy platforms.
