Abstract: The increase in coal production in the world and in the Russian Federation is due to objective reasons related to the availability of natural resources and the development of technologies for the deep processing of coal. In the context of the new economic crisis, one should not expect significant investments in the coal industry. Therefore, the reserve for increasing production is to increase the productivity of the main technological machines operating in the coal mines of Kuzbass. The analysis of production data showed that the reduced operational productivity of excavators does not depend on the volume of the bucket and the cycle time. It is established that the operational performance, first of all, depends on the time of the actual duty cycle. It is shown that the main reserve of its increase lies in increasing the effectiveness of using the actual time of work.
