Abstract: Regardless of the size of the transport vehicle, the share of fuel costs in the total mass of operating costs according to various data is about 30%. The main document according to which fuel consumption is normalized at enterprises in the Russian Federation, including at quarries, is the "Fuel consumption standards for cars" as amended by the order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia. However, this technique does not sufficiently take into account the specifics of the use of dump trucks and mining and geological conditions, which leads to significant discrepancies in the calculated values of diesel fuel consumption with actual operational indicators. The article analyzes the factors that influence the fuel consumption of dump trucks, and assesses the degree of these factors on fuel consumption. The factors are divided into the main ones and those that have a secondary influence and could not be taken into account or could be generalized into summary correction coefficients. As a result of the analytical study, a refined methodology for rationing diesel fuel consumption is proposed, based on the calculation of fuel consumption through full work performed by a dump truck during technological operations, per 100 km of mileage. The proposed methodology is characterized by a more comprehensive approach in comparison with the order of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
