Abstract: A study of different types of transport in the mining and metallurgical industries showed a wide use of bucket chain elevators. For a long period, scientific, and industrial studies were conducted aimed at expanding their application and increasing productivity. The object of the study is to ensure the movement of large-piece loads with an increased volume of buckets using modernized units for fixing structural elements to the traction member with an increase in the reliability characteristics of the elevator. The purpose of the study is to increase the productivity of bucket elevators by modernizing the units for attaching buckets to traction elements. Weight load from buckets is distributed between both pairs of hinges. This makes it possible to change the dimensions of the buckets in the upward direction, make it possible to transport large-piece weights using an elevator and increase the production characteristics of the bucket elevator. The completed studies make it possible to develop initial requirements for the design of this type of equipment.
