Abstract: The presented materials reflect the trends taking place in the global energy sector, show the role of coal as one of the leaders of the global energy balance now and in the future, reflect the indicators of coal production in the Russian Federation, including by underground method, show the role of cleaning combines of Western companies in underground coal mining, their parameters and features as complex mechatronic class machines. A brief excursion is presented on the experience of creating cleaning combines of GBU "DONUGLEMASH", including KDK cleaning combines (combine "Donbass-Kuzbass") for working off medium-capacity and high-power layers, the parameters of combines of a standard-sized range of KDK, the features of their design and layout scheme, and the practical results achieved. The data of components mastered in mass production for a standard-sized range of KDK combines are presented. A typical representative of a number of combines is reasonably proposed, on the basis of which the most trained scientific research and design organizations of the country under the auspices of ANO "NOC "Kuzbass-Donbass" should perform a complex of R&D with the manufacture of the first import-substituting combine KDK600 with its delivery in 2026 to the Belorechenskaya mine of LLC PG Rodina (LNR). A number of research and advanced design methods are presented, as well as a number of other measures to create a standard range of import-substituting combines for mining shallow-slope formations with a capacity of 1.2 – 5.5 m, on the basis of which it is possible to master stable production in the required number of Russian-made combines in a short time in order to ensure the technological sovereignty of the country and preserve the leadershipcurrent positions in the field of coal exports.
