Abstract: The article considers the methodology for determining the parameters of the dragline excavator bucket suspension, for which a mathematical model, algorithm and computer program in the Visual Basic algorithmic language have been developed. A feature of calculating the parameters of the excavator bucket harness is the presence of flexible connections - ropes. The presence of ropes and a fairly complex design of the harness complicates the process of calculating the parameters - it is impossible to obtain a mathematical relationship that would ensure the calculation of the bucket tilt angle depending on the forces in the lifting and traction ropes and on the angles of their tilt. The article considers a search algorithm for calculating the angle, including three cycles for finding the position of the axes of the connection of the lifting ropes with the lifting chain, traction ropes with the traction chain, the bucket tilt angle under the condition of equality of the specified length of the unloading rope and its calculated value determined by the positions of the bucket and the specified axes. Additional search conditions are: the passage of the lifting force vector along the bisector of the angle between the lifting chain and the traction of the unloading rope pulley, the passage of the traction force vector along the bisector of the angle between the traction chain and the branch of the unloading rope. The calculation results are given.
