Abstract: When operating in mining enterprises, quarry excavators are subject to heavy loads, including the axle of the working equipment. Currently, the service life of the P&H axle is 12 months, and for the EKG-36 - 6 months. To design the repair sequence and the necessary welding consumables, the forces occurring in the part during operation under different conditions were determined. This article presents the results of calculating the greatest possible applied pressure and digging forces coming to the axle of the working equipment of the P&H 2800 XPC and EKG-35 mining excavators. The calculations took into account operating conditions with varying degrees of rock heaviness (light, medium, heavy) and in three bucket positions (start of digging, bucket empty; handle tilted at an angle of 45°, bucket half full; bucket with soil at maximum reach, bucket completely full). The calculations took into account the characteristics of quarry excavators, such as bucket capacity, bucket weight, digging height, digging radius and other operating parameters. Comparable values were obtained for different quarry excavators, indicating the same operating conditions. It was found that the maximum force of 1395.7 kN is applied at bucket position I (start of digging, empty bucket) for heavy rocks (low-fractured hard rocks, heavy ores and monolithic low-fractured hard rocks, heavy ores). The maximum thrust force (3731.2 kN) corresponds to bucket position I for light rocks (soft and loose soils, coals; very dense soils, semi-hard rocks, hard and very hard coals, strong semi-hard rocks, soils and rocks when frozen to a depth of 1-2 m; moderately fractured hard rocks).
